WICHITA, Kan. — The Love Like Remi Scholarship is proud to announce the 2026 scholarship recipients: Samantha Elsea of Maize High School and Jocelyn Langley of Maize South High School. Each student has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of their character, perseverance, and commitment to serving others.
Now in its second year, the Love Like Remi Scholarship is awarded annually to a current high school senior who demonstrates a commitment to promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention within their school or community. The scholarship reflects the mission of Love Like Remi: honoring the legacy of Remington Young by helping remove the stigma surrounding mental illness through compassion, advocacy, and service.
Samantha Elsea and Jocelyn Langley were selected for exemplifying the values at the heart of the scholarship through their leadership, resilience, and genuine dedication to supporting others. Both students have made meaningful impacts in their schools and communities while demonstrating empathy and a commitment to creating positive change.
“The Love Like Remi Scholarship was created to recognize students who lead with kindness and are committed to making a difference,” organizers said. “Samantha and Jocelyn embody the spirit of this scholarship through their perseverance, character, and advocacy for others.”
As the scholarship enters its second year, Love Like Remi continues its mission of encouraging conversations around mental health, supporting suicide prevention efforts, and empowering young people to create caring and connected communities.
